An electric iron of 500Watt is connected to a 250 volt .
1)find the resistance of the electric iron
2) find the current flowing through the iron
3)if the same electric iron is connected 100 volt mains ,what power will it consume.?

1) P= V^2/R

R=V^2/P= 250×250/500

= 125 ohms

2)V=IR

I=V/R = 250÷125

= 2 A

3)P=V I

= 100× 2

= 200 watts

Hope it helps u....

we know that,

P=V^2/R

or, 500=(250)^2/R.

or, R=(250×250)/500

or, R=5×25

or, R =125

Thus the resistance (R) is 125 oham.

we also know that,

V=IR

or, I=V/R

or, I= 250/125

or, I= 2

thus the current flow is 2 A.
