To find:-

Resistance of electric lamp (R2)

Total resistance,

By applying V = IR

R = V/I

= 6/0.5

= 12ohm.

R2 = 12 - 4 = 8ohm

As they are connected in series

So, Req = R1+R2

= 4+8

= 12ohm.
