We know that, if two resistances, R1 and R2 are connected in series in a circuit, then the equivalent resistance in the circuit is given by:

R1 + R2

In the question, resistance of the lamp (R1) = 10 Ω

Also, resistance of the conductor (R2) = 2 Ω

So, equivalent resistance in the circuit = R1 + R2 = (10 + 2) Ω = 12Ω

Total resistance of the circuit is 12Ω .
