For a single armature winding, when the shaft has made one-half complete turn, the winding is now connected so that current flows through it in the opposite of the initial direction is counted as DC motor.In alternating current, the electrons don't move steadily forward. Instead, they just move back and forth. When the electrons in alternating current switch direction, the direction of current and the voltage of the circuit reverses itself.
