Answer:

Power of the motor = 1100 Watt

Electrical energy consumed by it in 2 hours = 2.2 kw-h

Explanation:

As per the given data of question,we have,

Voltage supplied = 220 volts

Current supplied = 5 amperes

Time = 2 hours

As we know that,

Power = voltage × current

so,

⇒ Power = 220 × 5 = 1100 Watt

∴ Power of the motor = 1100 Watt

Also,

Electrical energy consumed is expressed in K-watt-hour.

Therefore,

Energy consumed = power × time

⇒ Energy consumed = 1100 watt × 2 hours = 2200 watt-hour

Since,

1 k-watt = 1000 watt

∴ Electrical energy consumed by it in 2 hours = 2.2 kw-h

GIVEN

  • Voltage (V) = 220 V
  • Current (I) = 5 A
  • Time (t) = 2 h = 2 x 60 x 60 = 7200 s

FORMULA TO BE USED

  • P = V × I
  • Energy consumed by the motor = P x t

POWER CALCULATION

  • P = 220 x 5
  • P = 1100 W

ENERGY CALCULATION

  • E = 1100 x 7200
  • E = 7.92 x 10⁶ J

RESULTS

  • Power of the motor = 1100 W
  • Energy consumed by the motor = 7.92 x 10⁶ J
