An electric pole, 24 metres high casts a shadow of 20 metres. Find the height of a
tree, if it casts a shadow of 15 metres under similar conditions.​

In both cases, the angle of inclination of the sun (θ) will be same in both cases, so tanθ values will be same.

Now, tanθ = Height of pole / Length of shadow = 24/20 = 6/5

In second case, let height of tree be 'h'.

tanθ = h/15 = 6/5

So, h=15*6/5 = 90/5 = 18 m.

Therefore, the height of the tree is 18m.
