an electric toaster rated 220v, 2.2kw, works for 2hours . Find the energy consumed and current drawn. Give the rating of the fuse required for the proper working of the appliance.​

We have,

• Voltage = 220 v
• Power consumed = 2.2 kw = 2200
• Time taken = 2 hours

Now,

• Energy consumed = Time taken × power consumed /1000

= Time taken × power consumed /1000

= 2 × 2200/1000

= 4400/1000

= 4.4 units

• In joule it will be 4400 joules

Now, the rating of fuse can be calculated likewise;

• Power/Voltage

= 2200/220

= 220/22

= 10 Amphere

• At 10 Amphere of current the toaster will start working, so we need a fuse slightly above 10 A.

Therefore,the fuse rating should be 11A.
