velocity = 120 km/h × 5/18 = 100/3 m/sec
time= 30 sec
distance= v × t
             =  100/3 × 30
             = 1000 m
so distance or displacement travelled by the electric train moving with velocity 120km/h in 30 sec is 1000 m.

That's pretty simple one actually.

No need to mess it up with any equation..rather solve by simple maths..

Distance covered in 1 h = 120 km

I.e. 60*60 seconds = 120*1000 m

Distance in 30 sec= (120000/3600 )* 30

= 1000 m or 1 km
