Answer:

length of electric wire=756

no of poles=15

so we devide 756÷15

to know the length of wire between 2 poles

756÷15

=50.4m

Answer:

  • Distance between every pole is 50 m.
  • Length of electric wire left is 6 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

  • An electric wire of length 756 metres ran across 15 poles placed at equal distances.

To Find:

  • Distance between the poles.
  • Length of wire left.

Solution:

Length of electric wire = 756 m

Number of poles the wire ran across = 15 poles

Distance between every pole = (756 ÷ 15) m

Process:

\sf\qquad\underline{\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;50\;\;\;\;\;\;\;}\\ \begin{array}{cc} \sf 15 )&\sf \ 756\\&\underline{\sf -75\downarrow\;\;} \\ & \sf x\;x\;6\\&\underline{\sf\;\;\;\;\;-0\;\;} \\ & \sf \;\;\;\;\;6\end{array}

Hence,

  • Quotient = 50
  • Remainder = 6

Therefore,

  • Distance between every pole = 50 m
  • Length of electric wire left = {756 - (15 × 50)} m = (756 - 750) m = 6 m
