The cost to be paid for 30 days is ₹750

Given : kW used per day - 2kW

Cost per unit -₹ 6.25

To find - cost needs to be paid after 30 days of use

Solution -

Total time the appliance is used - (2hrs) × (30 days ) = 60 hrs

Energy consumed = 2kW × 60 hrs = 120 kWh

But 1 kWh = 1 electric unit

So , 120 kWh = 120 unit

Charge per unit = 120 units × ₹6.25 = ₹ 750

Hence cost for using the electric appliance for 30 days is ₹750

Given: Power Consumption: 2kW per day

          Cost per unit: Rs. 6.25

To find: The cost for electricity consumption for 30 days

Solution: To calculate the energy consumption, we need to multiply the total power units consumed by the time and divide it by 1000.

The formula to calculate the power consumption is

Since 1 kW = 1000W

Then, 2 kW = 1000 X 2 W

                  = 2000W

Now we can substitute the values in the formula

E = P * t /1000

    = (2000W x 2 x 60x 60) /1000

     = (1440000 w)/1000

     = 1440 kwh

The energy consumption is 1440 kwh a day

then

energy consumption for 30 days

E = 1440 x 30 kwh

   =  43200 kwh

Cost per unit = Rs. 6.25

For 43200 kwh = Rs. 6.25 x 43200 kwh

                           = Rs. 270000
