Not the same. Since for ac the voltage will always fluctuate and in case of dc the voltage will be constant but the heat produced will depend on the effective voltage

If they are at same voltage, then heat produced by the Ac source will be more.

Explanation:

There are two factors which are affecting this (heat produced by AC source is more than DC source).

  1. As we know AC is alternating current and it always fluctuate depending upon its frequency which is not in DC current. Due to this heat production is more in AC source.
  2. We know that heat produces is directly proportional to the resistance of the material. But, in AC the charges do not distribute uniformly, they get concentrated to the surface of the source which increases the resistance for AC source.
