If an electrician working in our home wants to replace a blown up fuse by wire made by a piece of copper wire, then we should not agree to let him do so. Fuses are meant to melt and break the circuit if a large and irregular amount of electric currents passes through it. So ,the fuses are made of alloys which have a very low melting point. But Copper has a very high melting point so it would not melt and break the circuit. In such cases, a short circuit can occur or an electronic appliance which use a little amount of electricity will receive a large amount of electricity and hence it will not work.
