An electron is projected with uniform velocity along the axis of a current carrying long solenoid. Which of the following is true?(a) The electron will be accelerated along the axis(b) The electron path will be circular about the axis(c) The electron will experience a force at 45° to the axis and hence execute a helical path(d) The electron will continue to move with uniform velocity along the axis of the solenoid

it's answer should be option no. d as there is no force acting because B and velocity. of electron is parallel

When an electron is projected with uniform velocity along the axis of a long current carrying solenoid then the electron will continue to move with uniform velocity along the axis of the. Solenoid.

1)The reason for this is that when a current is flowing through a solenoid a magnetic field is created around it.

2)whenever a moving charge encounters an external magnetic field a force acts on it that changes it's trajectory.

3)This force always changes its direction by 90 degrees.

4)Since the electron is projected along the axis of the solenoid the angle between the magnetic field of the solenoid and the electron is 90 degrees no force acts on the solenoid and it continues it's path along the axis of the solenoid.
