your complete question -> .An electron is moving with speed 2x10^5 m/s along the positive x-direction in the presence of magnetic induction B=i+4j-3k. The magnitude of the force experienced by the electron N, (e =1.6x19^-19 C)

solution : given,

velocity of electron , v = (2 × 10^5) i

magnetic field intensity, B = i + 4j - 3k

we know, force experienced by charged particle is given by, F=q(\vec v\times\vec B)

here, q = 1.6 × 10^-19 C

so, F = 1.6 × 10^-19 [(2 × 10^5) i × (i + 4j - 3k) ]

= 1.6 × 10^-19 [ 8 × 10^5 k + 6 × 10^5 j]

= 12.8 × 10^-14 k + 9.6 × 10^-14 j

hence, magnitude of force, |F| = √{(12.8)² + (9.6)²} × 10^-14 N

= 16 × 10^-14 N

= 1.6 × 10^-13 N
