solution : remember : distance is the length of path covered by particle.

and displacement is the shortest length covered by particle. or , displacement is the seperation between final position to initial position.

distance covered by electron , when it completes one - fourth of the orbit = 1/4 × circumference of circular orbit

= 1/4 × 2πR

= πR/2

displacement covered by electron = √2R
