An electronic repair shop offers three types of service: on-site, at-store, and by-mail. On-site service costs 3 times as much as at-store service. By-mail service costs $10 less than at-store service. Last week, the shop completed 15 services on-site, 40 services at-store, and 5 services by mail for total sales of $2650.

Complete ALL parts. SHOW ALL WORK!

Part A : Define variables for each service.

Part B : Write a systems of equations for the services.

Part C : Determine the cost of one on-site repair service. SHOW ALL WORK!

Hey Friend Nice Question!

Given :

  • Cost of onsite repair = 3 times cost of at store
  • cost of mai services = cost of at store -10
  • On-site work completed last week = 15
  • At store work completed = 40
  • mail work completed = 5

Let's Assume :

  • The cost of at store = x
  • the cost of in-site = 3x
  • the cost of mail service = x-10

Solution :

Part 1] :

See the "let's Assume" part

  • The cost of at store = x
  • the cost of in-site = 3x
  • the cost of mail service = x-10

Part 2 ]

The equation that can be formed is :

15(3x)+40(x)+5(x-10) = 2650 ,

or, 45x+40x+5x-50 = 2650

or, 90x = 2700

Part 3]

To determine the cost of on-site work, we will solve the equation formed in "Part 2"

So, 90x = 2700

or, 9x = 270

or, x = 270/9

or, x = 30

So,

  • The cost of on site repair = ₹90
  • The cost of at store = 30
  • The cost of by mail service = 20

Hope it helped Freind !

Given:

Three types of service: on-site, at-store, and by-mail where on-site service costs 3 times as much as at-store service and by-mail service costs $10 less than at-store service.

Also, 15 services on-site, 40 services at-store, and 5 services by mail for total sales of $2650 was completed by the shop last week.

To find:

Answers of parts A, B and C.

Solution:

The answers of all parts are solved below:

Part A:

Let the cost of at-store service be $x.

So, according to the question,

The cost of on-site service is three times at-store service.

Hence,

The cost of on-site service = $3x.

Similarly,

The cost of by-mail service is $10 less than at-store service. So, we have

The cost of by-mail service = $(x - 10)

Hence, the variables for

  • At-store service = x
  • On-site service = 3x
  • By-mail service = (x - 10)

Part B:

According to the question, we have

15(3x) + 40x + 5(x - 10) = 2650.

45x + 40x + 5x - 50 = 2650.

90x - 50 = 2650

90x = 2700

Hence, the system of equations for the services is 90x = 2700.

Part C:

From part B, we have

90x = 2700

x = 30

From part A, the cost of one on-site service = $3x.

Thus, after putting the value of x in the above, we have

3x = 3(30) = $90.

Hence, the cost of one on-site repair service is $90.
