Nitrogen, with its 5 outermost electrons, interacts with hydrogen atoms in a ratio of 1:3, forming ammonia (NH3).

hope it helps!

The electronic configuration is

 {1s}^{2}  {2s}^{2}  {2p}^{6}  {3s}^{2}  {3p}^{3}

  • The K shell can accumulate two electrons in its 1s subshell.
  • The L shell can accumulate eight electrons in its s and p subshell.
  • The M shell can accumulate 18 electrons in its s, p and d subshell.
  • Here given that M has 5 electrons that means the K shell has two electrons and the L shell has 8 electrons.
  • So, its electronic configuration is as follows-
  • {1s}^{2}  {2s}^{2}  {2p}^{6}  {3s}^{2}  {3p}^{3}
