An element forms an oxide with formula a3o4.The valency of that element is 3 and 2.This type of compound assumes either spinnel or inverse spinnel structure. Here two metal ions assume octahedral Geometry and on metal ion assumes tetrahedral geometry. In this compound metal ions have two different oxidation states +2 and +3.
