An element is a main constituent of paper , diamond and clothes etc. It forms covalent bonds with itself and other elements. Identify the elements . how will be the electrons distribution in its various shells. How it will attain noble gas configuration?

This element was name as carbon and its ec is 2,4 so its valence electrons is 4 so carbon can do not share or loss these 4 electrons so he was share with other carbon atoms or other elements

The element which is the main constituent of Diamond, paper etc is Carbon.
Carbon is a non metal with Atomic number 6.
It's electronic configuration: 1s^2 2s^2 2p^2
IT belongs to 2 period and 14 group
Carbon to attain nearest inert gas - Helium stability it's need to loose 4 electrons to become C+4 which is not possible and to form C-4 ion is also not possible as it's atom is small which cannot accommodate more 4 electron. Hence carbon involves in sharing of electrons to attain stability by forming strong covalent bonds.
