Using criss- cross method of finding chemical formula

Valency of M = + 3

Valency of CL = - 2

After cross over valencies, formula will be M₂CL₃

Answer:

The formula of chloride in which the element M has three valence electrons is MCl_3

Explanation:

Given that,

M is an element that has three valence electrons.

Cl has one valence electron.

Do criss-cross method M³⁺⇒3 Cl^{-}1

The formula of chloride in which the element M has three valence electrons is

MCl_3. In this case, the element can be Aluminum. Then the formula for  aluminum chloride is AlCl_3
