(ii) OH − is hydroxide ion. By balancing charge, formula of metal hydroxide ion is M(OH) 2.

(iv) Chloride has Cl − ion. Hence, metal chloride is MCl 2 .

(v) NO 3−is nitrate ion. By charge balance, metal nitrate is M(NO 3 ) 2 .

(vi) (PO 4 ) 3− is phosphate ion. By charge balance, metal phosphate is M 3 (PO 4 ) 2.
