an element X forms a compound XH³ with hydrogen. Another element Y forms a compound YX² with X. Given that the valency of hydrogen is 1, what are the valencies of X and Y?​

x= -3

y= +6

reasons:

As the sign would be reversedin case of oxidation state.

Hydrogen must probably have (-1)

In case of YX2 we found that

x=-3

Than -3-3=-6
