an element x has 7 electrons in its outermost orbit and another element y has four electrons in the outermost orbit. if they combine to form a compound.what type of bound will be formed between them and why? write the formula of the compound formed by the combination of x and y

It will form covalwnt bond because when we take carbon  and chlorine then it becomes carbin chloride (CCL2)

Means xbelongs to helogen family .and y belongs to carbon family .. so the compound having covelant bond.. so ...... The compound will be ccl4 ... Hope it will help u....
