Hey buddy,

The electronic configuration of both the elements are:-
1. X- 1s2, 2s2, 2p6, 3s2.
2.Y- 1s2, 2s2, 2p6, 3s2, 3p4.

The chemical formula of oxide of X will be CO.

The chemical formula of compound formed between X and Y will be CO2 as element X is carbon and element Y is oxygen.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
