Mass number = Atomic number + no. of neutrons

Atomic number = Mass number - no. of neutrons
                         = 35-18 = 17

Group no- 17

Since the mass no. is 18 ,then it has 17 proton or electron this reveals the element is chlorine and it has 3 shells so it's period is 3rd and it belong to halogen group i.e. 17th group.
