In this question, it is mentioned that it turns the blue litmus paper to red.

According to science if the Litmus paper changes blue to red its acidic in nature and vice versa.

And we have learnt in this chapter also that Non-Metals are acidic in nature.

By this we conclude that this substance is acidic in nature and is a Non-metal.
