Given:-

  • Weight of elephant ,W = 40000N

  • Area ,A = 500cm²

To Find:-

  • Pressure ,P

Solution:-

Firstly we convert the unit here

1m² = 10000cm²

Therefore , 500cm² = 500/10000= 0.05 m²

As we know that Pressure is defined as the Force Per unit area.

•P = F/A

where,

P is the Pressure

F is the Force

A is the area

Substitute the value we get

➨ P = 40000/0.05

➨ P = 40000 ×100/5

➨ P = 8000×100

➨ P = 800000 Pa

➨ P = 8×10⁵ Pa

Therefore, the pressure exerted by elephant on the ground is 8 × 10 Pascal.

P = F/A

P = 40000/0.05

P = 40000 ×100/5

P = 8000×100

P = 800000 Pascal

P = 800000 Pascal
