an elevator descends in to a mine shaft at a rate of 9m/minute. If the descends starts from 20 m above the ground level how long will it take to reach 250 m?

Total distance = 250+20 (20 m above the ground and 250 below) = 270

Speed = 9 m/p

T = d/s, = 270/9 = 30 minutes
