An elevator descends into a mine shaft at the rate of 5m/min. If the descent starts from 20m above the ground level. How long will it take to reach -370m? ​

total distance it needs to cover = -370-20 = -390m

as it is 20 m above plus it also needs to go 370 metre down. so = 390m

Now,

speed = 5m/min

speed = distance /time taken

time taken = 390/5 = 78min = 1hour 18mins
