Step-by-step explanation:

An elevator descends into mine shaft at the rate of 6 meter per minute.

So, for 1 min elevator descends 6 meters.

The position of the elevator after one hour =

We know,

 1 hour =60 min

 60 min x 6 meters=360 meters..

But the elevator began to descend from 20 meters above.

So,

360 - 20= " 340 meters."

It's position after 45 mins  = 45 meters x 6 mins

                                         = 270 meters.

The elevator has descended from 15 meters above

So,

270 - 15 meters = 225 meters

270 - 20 meters = 250 meters
