let the adults be x with 15 children

12 = 20

X = 15

X = 12 × 20/15

X = 240/15

X = 16

so 16 adults can be in the elevator with 15 children at the same time.

Answer:

9 adults can board the elevator with 15 children

Step-by-step explanation:

let the weight of each children be y and that of adult be x... therefore :

since, 12x=20y

x/y=20/12=5/3

5/3=15/y

y=15*3/5

therefore. ... y=9
