An elevator lifts a person of mass 125 kg a distance of 500 m. What work is done by the elevator?

\underline\mathfrak \blue{ Answer }

to find = Work done

\rm work = f×s

• Force = ? (to find)

• s(distance)=500m(given)

To find force :

\rm F = m×a

• mass(m) = 125kg

• acceleration(a)=9.8m/s²(acceleration due to gravity)

Now, by applying the formula :

\rm{ F=m×a}

\rm 125×9.8

\rm{1225N}

Now,

• Gravity=9.8m/s²(we know that)gravitational force on earth is constant.

• mass(m) = 125kg

• height (h) = 500m

Now, (We know that)

to find Work done we use the formula:-

\rm{ W = f×s }

here,

• Force (f) = 1225N

• Distance (s) = 500m

By applying the formula

\rm{ W=f×s }

\rm{ W=1225×500}

\rm{ W=612500 }

therefore, the work done here, in this case is of 612500 joules. or 612500J.
