an employee works in a company on a contract of 30 days on the condition that he will receive rs. 200 for each day he works and he will be fined rs. 20 for each day he is absent. If he receives rs. 3800 in all, for how many days did he remain absent?

LOOK LET ,
HIS PRESENT DAYS BE X
AND ABSENT DAYS BE Y

WE HAVE TOLD THAT ....HIS TOTAL DAYS OF WORK ARE 30.....

SO WE CAN SAY THAT ....
=X+Y=30

=X=30-Y.................1.

NOW BY THE GIVEN CONDITION....

IN TOTAL HIS RS OF WORK ARE 200X .....

IN TOTAL HIS RS FINED WAS 20Y .........

200X - 20Y = 3800

PUT X =30-Y IN THIS EQN.....

SO 200(30-Y) - 20Y =3800

6000-200Y -20Y =3800

6000-220Y=3800

-220Y=3800-6000

-220Y=-2200

SO Y =-2200/-220

Y=10

.........SO HERE IS YOUR ANSWER......

HE WAS ABSENT FOR 10 DAYS ......

Hey,  Let x be the number of days he doesn't work   He gets=₹200/day Fine=₹20 /absent  Hence,He Contracted to work for 30 days  Hence,30-x is the number of. Days he didn't work He fined for ₹20 for absence  Hence,20x (x is the number of absence During work)  ATQ  200(30-x)-20x=3800 6000-200x-20x=3800 -220=3800-6000 -220= -2200 x=2200/220 x=10 days   Thank you for asking questions
