An employer reduces the number of employees in the ratio
4:3 and increases their wages in the ratio 5:6. Find out the
previous wage bill if the new wage bill is Rs. 9000.

ii) Original wage/employee = 14y and the present is = 15y

iii) Original total wage = 9x*14y = 126xy and the present = 8x*15y = 120xy

iv) So wage bill ratio, original:present = 126xy:120xy = 21:20

Thus the wage bill is reduced in the ratio 21:20
