An employer reduces the number of employees in the ratio 9:8 and increases their wages in the ratio of 14:15 in what is the wages bill decreased

Let the number of employees be represented as 19a & 16a and wages be represented by 4b & 5b.

The wage bill = no of emoloyee x wage rate

=> 19 x 4 ab/ 16 x 5 ab

=> 76/80 = 19/20
