An empty crucible was weighed. Then a piece of magnesium
ribbon was added and the crucible was reweighed. The crucible
was then heated strongly so that magnesium change into
magnesium oxide. The crucible was reweighed.
(guys kindly answer part a and b)

Mass of magnesium oxide

= 25.82 - 25.62 g

= 0.2 g (Ans.)

b)

Mass of magnesium

= 25.74 - 25.62 g

= 0.12 g

Mass of magnesium oxide

= 0.2 g

Mass of oxygen in magnesium oxide

= 0.2 - 0.12 g

= 0.08 g (Ans.)
