An empty rectangular tank with a base area of 1200 cm square and height
100 cm is filled with water from 2 taps. One tap can fill the tank with 9 Ltr of
water per minute. While the other tap can do it at 3Ltr less per minute. In how
much time will the rectangular tank be filled ? (1 L = 1000 cm 3 )

Answer:

base =1200cm^2

height =100 cm

Volume =LX B X H

V=1200X100

v= 12,000 cm^3

V= 12 L

Let the taps be T1 and T2

Rate of T1 = 9L/min

Rate of T2 = (9-3)L / min

RT2 = 6L/min

Work in 1 minute of both taps =  15 L/min

Capacity of Tank = 12 L

Therfore , time = Capacity / Speed

Time = 12/15 = 4/5

time = 0.8 min

time = 0.8 X 60 sec

Total time = 48 seconds

Answer:

base =1200cm^2
