Given : An engine develops 10 kW of power.

g  = 10  m/s²

To Find  : How much time will it take to lift the mass of 200 kg to a height of 40 m.

Solution:

lift the mass of 200 kg to a height of 40 m.

m = 200 kg

h  = 40 m

g  = 10  m/s²

Work to be done = mgh

= 200 * 10 * 40

= 80 kN

Power = 10 kW

power = work done / time

=> 10 kW  = 80 kN / Time

=> Time  = 8 sec

option c is correct answer
