Answer:

80 \times  {10}^{3} \: W

Explanation:

Given

Volume = 20 m^3

Time = 5min = 5 X 60 = 300 seconds

Efficiency of the engine = 50%

To find

Power consumed which means we need P input.

We know that

 \boxed{ \% \: n =  \frac{P_{output}}{P_{input}}  \times 100}

and

 \boxed{P_{output} =  \frac{w}{t}  =  \frac{mgh}{t} }

On putting all values

P_{output} =  \frac{ {10}^{3} \times 20 \times 10 \times \times 60  }{300}  \\  P_{output} = \frac{ {10}^{3} \times 20 \times 10 \times \cancel60  }{ \cancel300} \\ P_{output} = \frac{ {10}^{3} \times 20 \times  \cancel10 \times 1  }{ \cancel5}  \\ \boxed{\ P_{output} = 40 \times  {10}^{3} }

Now

According to Question

 =  > 50 =  \frac{P_{output}}{P_{input} } \times 100 \\  =  >  \cancel50 =  \frac{40 \times  {10}^{3} \times  \cancel100 }{P_{input}}  \\  =  >  \boxed{P_{input} = 80 \times  {10}^{3} \: W }

Therefore

Power consumption of the Engine will be 40 X 10^3 W.
