Base of the equilateral triangle = side of the equilateral triangle.

Area of equi triangle = √3/4 x s^2

4√3 = √3/4 x s^2

16 = s^2

s = 4cm

Area of square = s × s = 4*4 = 16cm^2

Ratio of the areas = 4√3/16 = √3/4 = √3:4
