Given : An equilateral triangle with side length 18 cm diagram,

To Find : the height of the triangle.

Solution:

Area of an Equilateral triangle = \dfrac{ \sqrt{3} }{4} (\text{side})^2

Area of Triangle =  \dfrac{1}{2} \times \text{base} \times \text{height}

All sides of equilateral triangle are equal

base = side of triangle =  18

and  let height of triangle = h

\dfrac{ \sqrt{3} }{4} (18)^2=\dfrac{1}{2} \times 18 \times h

\dfrac{ \sqrt{3} }{2} \times 18  = h

9 \sqrt{3}     = h

Hence height of the triangle is 9√3  cm  ≈ 15.6 cm
