Toolbox for Peace
‘Peace’ is the most divine state of mind attained after spiritual maturity. ‘Peace’ is the most-longed for imperturbable state of mind wherein only the joyful serenity reigns the heart. In peace, man neither panics, nor worries, and nor sulks. He is peacefully happy all the time.
James Allen in his book ‘From Passion to Peace’ says: “The pure-hearted and wise have peace in their hearts. It enters into their actions; they apply it in their lives. It is more powerful than strife; it conquers where force would fail. Its wings shield the righteous. Under its protection, the harmless are not harmed. It affords a secure shelter from the heat of selfish struggle. It is a refuge for the defeated, a tent for the lost, and a temple for the pure. “
Peace is the Holy Grail that each one aspires,
Won only after dousing the passion fires.
Be righteous, divine and steadfastly pray,
Only then will you be illumined by its rays.
Since peace is so important not only for an individual, but for each societies, communities, nations, alliances, and the entire world in general, it is our bounden duty to endeavour to maintain it at all times and at any cost. If each individual living on the surface of our beautiful planet, just minds his own peace, I think the entire world will become peaceful paradise of perfection.
Peace can only be attained by controlling the willful and whimsical passions seeking pleasures for the self. We must control the turbulence of passions in order to be peaceful. Bad emotions in excess such as anger, jealousy, lust, and avarice, are the root causes of absence of peace. We must purge ourselves of them.
There are some wonderful peace enhancing tools that we must assiduously use to be peaceful. Meditation, Yoga, reading, going into the lap of nature, and deep sleep are some of the techniques through which we can access peace. We will have to work for it; it won’t happen on its own.
