Flooding is one of the most common natural disasters in both developed and developing countries, and it is occasionally of devastating impact, as the floods in China in 1959 and Bangladesh in 1974 and the tsunami in Southeast Asia in December 2004 show. It is also the predominate cause of death associated with the natural disasters, with most of the death are caused by drowning.
In fact, causes of flooding can be divided into two, that are natural factor and human factors. However, we can only prevent human factor from both of the factors. The main causes of the flooding is when rainfall continuously for a few days. The ground will become so wet until no more water can trickle through the earth. So, the water runs into the river, causing the water level in the river rise quickly until the river cannot cope with the water level. The water is then break over the river banks and spread over the surrounding land and it will happen when the rain fall heavily.
The flood is also caused by the error of human being. Some of us throw the garbage into the river just for the reason of convenience. During the rainy season, the garbage we thrown become the one which obstruct the river channel and affect the water flow in the river.
