First of all, we need to know that what the forests are. They are the large areas where a large number and various varieties of flora (plants) and fauna (animals) are present. That's why they are also called the biodiversity hotspots . Forests are very important part of our ecosystem as they maintain the ecological balance.

In today's modern world, everyone of us is busy in their own personal lives so no one is having a look over the declination of forests. It is a bitter truth that whenever we discuss about any serious environmental problem , instead of having a concern over it, people blame others for it. Most of them ignore it saying that only the single step taken by them cannot solve that problem. But I would like to say that we have not inherited this earth from our forefathers but borrowed it from our future generations so it is our responsibility to protect it. We should not depend on others to make our earth get rid of any threat.

This year the theme of Earth Day 2019 was to "Protect our Species" which is only possible if their natural habitat is conserved. We all know that the natural habitat of each and every species present on our mother earth is nothing other than the forests. So, it is a serious need to protect our forests if we want to save the mankind. There are various measures that should be adopted to conserve the forests. They are given below-

➡Afforestation, i.e., planting more and more trees.

➡We should organise various educational programmes in our society to make people aware about saving forests.

➡Reusing, recycling and reducing the yse of the non-biodegradable products.

➡Saving electricity.

There are innumerable methods to save our forests. Above are the only ways that can be adopted in our daily life.

I would like to conclude by mentioning that if you want to enjoy the lovely and fresh smell of air, do companionship with nature and help the future generations to live happily on this earth then do not delay in saving our forests.
