Example of analogous organ is

The wing of a bat and the wing of a bird.

• Both wings of bat and bird are analogous. Bat wings are stretched and Bird wings are extended.

• They both are separate evolutionary origins but they have similar analogous structure and both of them play a key role in the fighting.

• Birds and Bats are not originating from a common ancestor with wings but their forelimbs are similar.

• Both birds and Bats Wings have the same similar function but they are different in structure.

• That's why they are the example of analogous organs.

An example of analogous organs is wings of bats and birds.

Option: (c)

Explanation:

  • Analogous organs are those which perform similar function in different organisms but have different embryological origin.
  • Birds and bats have wings which help them to fly. However in case of bats the wings are modified limbs. Whereas in case of birds, the wings are developed for flying.
  • The wings of birds and bats have different embryological origin. Hence the two can be said to be analogous organs.
  • The others are homologous organs since they have similar origin but different functions.
