When Mercuric Oxide is heated it produces free mercury and oxygen. The sum of masses of mercury and oxygen is found to be equal to the mass of Mercuric Oxide.
Mercuric Oxide (100gm)on heating gives Mercury (92.6gm)+oxygen (7.4gm )
