An experiment was done by Goldstein in 1886. He
discovered some rays coming out of anode which showed a
deflection in its path in electric field towards negatively
charged plate. Also he used different gases in that tube and
determined the charge / mass ratio of these rays. These rays
also rotated the paddle wheel placed in its path.
These rays contain which subatomic particle ?
1
Electrons
2
Protons
3
Neutrons
4
Alpha particles

Answer:

(1) Electron.

Explanation:

In the 1870s, Goldstein conducted his own discharge tube experiments and named Kathodenstrahlen, or cathode rays, the light emissions examined by others. He found some major cathode ray properties, which led to their subsequent discovery as the electron, the first subatomic particle.
