Answer:

1) Mean value of the mass is 2.25+2.5+2.49+2.544=2.445g

2) absolute error in each measurement are:

measurement absolute value of error

2.25 2.445-2.25=0.195g

2.5 2.445-2.5=-0.055g

2.49 2.445-2.49=-0.045g

2.54 2.445-2.54=-0.095g

3)Actually the mean value of the absolute errors will be zero. Generally people calculate root mean square (RMS) of absolute error. But since you have asked for mean value I am adding all the values with their absolute values, hence the mean absolute error is 0.195+0.055+0.045+0.0954=0.0975.

4)So the relative error is 0.09752.445=0.0399

5) Percentage error is 0.09752.445×100=3.99%
