An expression is given as 22(x' x-20x)
Statement 1: Vinod claims that when the expression is divided by 11x2(x + 4
we get 2(x - 5).
Statement2: Varun claims that when the expression is divided by 11x(x+4)
we get 2x(x+5).

Given : Expression 22(x⁴ - x³ - 20x²)

Statement 1: "Vinod claims that when the expression is divided by 11x²(x + 4)

we get 2(x - 5)"

Statement2: "Varun claims that when the expression is divided by 11x(x+4)

we get 2x(x+5)"

To Find : Who is/are correct ?

Solution :

22(x⁴ - x³ - 20x²)

Taking x² common

= 22x² (x² - x - 20)

Using middle term split

= 22x²(x² - 5x + 4x - 20)

= 22x² ( x(x - 5) + 4(x - 5))

= 22x² (x - 5)(x + 4)

= 2 * 11x²(x - 5)(x + 4)

2(x - 5) 11x²(x + 4)

divided by 11x²(x + 4)

= 2 (x - 5)  Hence  Vinod claim is correct

2(x - 5) 11x²(x + 4)

= 2(x - 5)11 xx(x + 4)

= 2x(x - 5) 11x(x + 4)

divided by 11x(x+4)

= 2x(x-5)  Hence  Varun claim is not correct

∵  2x(x-5)  ≠ 2x(x+5)

Hence only Vinod is correct answer
