Question:-

  • An exterior angle of triangle measures 120° and its interior opposite angles are in ratio 7: 5. Find the angles of the triangle.

 \large{ \underline{ \underbrace{ \bf{ \red{Understanding \:  the \:  question  :  - }}}}}

We know that the sum of angles of a triangle is 180°.Hence we are given the measure of one side and ratio of other two sides.

Given :-

  • Measure of one angle is 120°
  • Ratio is 7:5

To find:-

  • Measure of other 2 sides

Solution:-

  • Let the other two angles be 7x and. 5x

7x+5x+120°=180°

12x+120°=180°

12x=180-120°

12x= 60°

⇨x =  \frac{60}{12}

x= 5

Therefore the required value for x is 5

Now, The measures of other angles are

  • 7x=7×5 =35°
  • 5x =5×5 =25°

Therefore the measure are 35° and 25°
